Description
Antique Sterling Silver Snuff Box, Colonel J Buckland, Phipps & Robinson 1795
English antique sterling silver upright snuff box by Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, hallmarked from London in 1795.
It carries a family crest to the lid with the name Col J Buckland, there was a Colonel Buckland in His Majesty’s army of Poole in Dorset who died in 1823, it may be the same man but we could find out no more other than that.
Free from damage, pattern/decoration not just as crisp as it once would have been but overall a very good box.
Measures 72x48x23mm.
