Sterling Silver Small Knife in Case (Carpenters Pencil Sharpening Knife?), Birmingham 1964

A sterling silver cased small knife (stainless steel blade), its exact purpose we have been unable to determine, out guess and it is at this time as we type here only our best guess and in no way can I say I am correct and indeed I may be a million miles away.

Similar cased would open to reveal a small wooden pencil so our thoughts are this could compliment another case holding a pencil and this small knife was used to sharpen the pencil so very suitable for a carpenter.

It is hallmarked from Birmingham in 1964, the makers mark is very poorly struck , we believe what we see is JB but I think there would be another letter before this, we have been unable to get anything on the maker, please note we may be wrong with the JB.

It is in excellent order , The length of case excluding the suspension loop is 76mm, length of knife is 70mm, length of blade is 41mm.
