A wonderful super clean condition sterling silver christening set comprising of beaker, napkin ring , spoon and fork.
The beaker and napkin ring are by Josiah Williams & Co and are hallmarked from London in 1898, the spoon and fork are hallmarked London 1895 (date letter T and U), the makers mark on these is indistinct but is not the same as the other two pieces.
No doubt at all in our minds the set has always been this way, it was not uncommon for one maker to make a part of something and another made the other parts then they were then boxed as a set, case shows it was retailed by W Alexander & Son of Glasgow.
As an indication of size the beaker stands 102mm tall.
