Glorious antique sterling silver card case by Nathaniel Mills, hallmarked from Birmingham in 1839.
The execution of the engraving to both sides is exceptional and remains bold with no loss of detail.
Both sides engraved with pheasants, one cartouche monogramed and one carries a crest depicting a stags head.
The odd small stubborn mark mainly on the cartouche that carries the monogram, 2 small bruises to plain edge, these however are minute and pretty much you will have to have good eyesight to pick up on them at all.
Measures 100x70mm.

This sterling silver card case features a Birmingham hallmark dated 1839 by Nathaniel Mills.
It displays bold, detailed engravings of two pheasants on one side and the other side shows a cartouche bearing a monogram and a stag’s‑head crest.
Craftsmen created exceptional engine-turned backgrounds and acanthus-scroll borders. The case measures approximately 100 × 70 mm and weighs around 81 g.
Collectors prize its crisp engraving and original, bold detail – Nathaniel Mills earned fame for high-quality Victorian “castle-top” boxes and cases. The hinge remains tight and functional after nearly two centuries and this case blends Victorian artistry and practical elegance for modern collectors.
