This sterling silver card case features Birmingham hallmarks dated 1916 by Adie & Lovekin Ltd. The envelope-shaped case boasts bright-cut scrollwork within a strapwork border.
A shaped cartouche on the front bears engraved initials, adding a personal touch. The interior is gilded, enhancing its elegance and preserving calling cards. The case measures approximately 95 × 63 mm and weighs about 74 g and a loop on the side allows for attachment to a chatelaine or chain.
Adie & Lovekin Ltd was renowned for producing novelty silver items during the Edwardian era. The firm operated in Birmingham from 1863, officially registering as a limited company in 1889.
