The “vieillard” mark – “head of an old man” (Michelangelo) – shows that the piece is first standard (.950) silver and because Lenain did not register until 1836 we know the piece was made between 1836 and 1838.
It also close to where bowl meeds stem carries the weevil mark.
A super piece of good gauge in excellent order, measures 218mm in length and 65mm across the bowl.
