A very interesting sterling silver pocket watch fob medal of considerable size, hallmarked from Birmingham in 1893 with the makers mark being that of Albert Sydenham, interesting as in it shows that William Robb whilst still at Kincardine O’Neil in his early days before moving onto Ballater had outsourced some work and then stamping with his ROBB and K’ON mark, the Kincardine O’Neil mark of (K’ON) is not frequently seen and any I have previously came across have always been on Edinburgh hallmarks making this one just a bit more interesting.
The front is engraved ‘ Lumphanan Games 1894’ , quite possibly Robb had more orders than he could handle himself hence outsourcing the work, pieces by Robb for the Lumphanan games have been seen on Edinburgh marks.
No damage and is of considerable weight and size, excluding the additional suspension loop it measures 63mm top to bottom.
