Vesta cases were also known as pocket match safes and were small easily portable boxes usually with a snap-shut cover and contained Vestas (which are short matches) helping to keep them dry and to prevent them spontaneously igniting when rubbed against each other!
This case measures 75 mm wide by 32 mm deep.
