Pair of Scottish antique sterling silver breeches knee buckles.
Hallmarked from Edinburgh in 1913 with the makers mark being that of R W Forsyth Ltd.
One is 56x40mm and the other 54x40mm.
In good order with light scuffs from use(very minor).
Also known as a breech buckle, this piece was a commonplace fashion accessory for men from the sixteenth century to the early nineteenth century. Breeches reached down to a man’s knee, where straps would be fastened to close the leg opening.
