Old Longines 15 jewel manual wind wristwatch, hallmarked from London in 1925(import marks), the case maker(AB) is that of Albert Baume, B&Co can also be seen near the balance wheel which is for Baume and Co who were the original importers of Longines into the UK, also marked at balance wheel with 13,34 which we assume will be the calibre number.The watch is running fine albeit not monitored for timekeeping accuracy. The dial has some hairlining and also a chip at the edge at the 10 position. Case back carries an engraving showing it was a prize issued by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Glasgow. The strap may well be original and is past its best and will need replacing. Measures 35mm across excluding the winding crown. A good quality watch offered on auction with a low start allowing everyone interested to determine the final sale price. |
