A Large Chinese Export two part sterling silver buckle with dragon decoration.
The maker or Artison of this very fine piece is LIANG 良 who is known to have worked from Tianjin as well as Canton.The buckle has then been imported into Scotland where it is hallmarked twice for Edinburgh in 1896, it carries the S-K mark of R Sturrock who is thought to have been the Scottish retailer or possibly the importer.
An attractive buckle which has been very nicely decorated with the main decoration being a Chinese dragon, of excellent size and weight, weighs 92g and measures 117x78mm.
In very nice order with the only thing to note is the spars that the belt would go through are not quite straight, this happens as a result of useage and we would not consider it damage just general wear.
