H Fisher  silver folding fruit knife with mother of pearl handle, blade hallmarked from Sheffield in 1930.

 In excellent condition with no spring back of blade what so ever, a very small and minute nibble from tip of handle(very very minor).
When opened it measures 142mm and when closed it measures 84mm.

H Fisher  silver folding fruit knife with mother of pearl handle, blade hallmarked from Sheffield in 1930.

 In excellent condition with no spring back of blade what so ever, a very small and minute nibble from tip of handle (very, very minor).
When opened it measures 142 mm and when closed it measures 84 mm.
Folding fruit knives are believed to have first appeared in France around the 17th century. They initially had blades of silver or gold since these materials were corrosion resistant (against acidic fruit juice) and men often gave them as presents to their wives or girlfriends.
