English Antique Sterling Silver Berry Spoon

This item is an English antique sterling silver berry spoon by Charles Boyton, hallmarked from London in 1832.

In excellent order with good clear hallmarks and measures 215 mm in length.

Known simply as ‘berry spoons’ these items have elaborate displays of berries or fruits embossed on their bowls. They are often quite large and usually have detailed decoration on the handle.  They are generally used for serving soft fruits but appear in many forms, for example dessert spoon, table spoon etc.
