This case measures 46 mm by 45 mm.
Vesta cases, also known as pocket match safes, were small easily portable boxes usually with a snap-shut cover and were used to hold Vestas (which are short matches) keeping them dry and to prevent them spontaneously igniting when rubbed against each other!
