Large sterling silver folding fruit knife with decorative mother of pearl handle with original cardboard case.
Hallmarked from Birmingham in 1850 with the makers mark being that of Hilliard & Thomason.
The rectangular cartouche carries the name of a previous owner.
Wonderfully detailed mother of pearl handle featuring a bird and foliage.
Super clean order, a few minor light scuffs to the reverse side of the blade, there are a couple of very minor fleabites to the mother of pearl, minute and I do not think anyone would notice with the naked eye unless you have the eyes of a hawk (only spotted on checking with magnification).
The shaped handle and size makes this a very comfortable knife in the hand.
Larger than average, measuring 158mm when opened and 89mm when closed.
