Exceptional quality solid sterling silver presentation key, hallmarked from Glasgow in 1903/04 with the makers mark being that of John Alexander Fettes.
Inscription shows it was presented by The Burgh of Barrhead for opening the Municipal Buildings on the 13th of April 1904.
Superb detailing and probably the best example we have seen in a very long time.
It would have been completly gilt finished but whilst gilt remains much of it has rubbed off over the years.
Measures 139mm in length and comes with original case, case has a little external wear.
Tartan bow is not included.
