English antique sterling silver tabletop snuff box by George Smith (III), hallmarked from London in 1784.
Decorated in high relief, the lid featuring a lady being serenaded by a young gentleman in front of a castle, other side also decorated and only the base is plain.
It retains its gilt interior and opens and closes perfectly with no hinge wear.
A wonderful survivor as boxes with such detail can tend to have polish holes etc, this one apart from a couple of small bruises to the base(very minor) is in exceptional order.
