Early Victorian sterling silver snuff box of the very highest quality and in quite exceptional condition.
Hallmarked from Birmingham in 1840, the makers mark being that of Neustadt & Barnett.
The outside decoration being 100% intact with no wear or rubbing, it would have looked exactly like this the day it was made, the decoration features an engraved pheasant to the centre on the base.
The inside has a glorious gilt finish which is also 100% intact and features a very nicely engraved inscription.
The inscription reads ‘Presented by M King as a token of esteem and in remembrance of his sincere friend J King August 12th 1842’.
The box measures 66x40x10mm.
A box of the very highest quality which is of very good gauge silver.
