English antique sterling silver nutmeg grater with steel grater.
Hallmarked from Birmingham in 1835 with the makers mark being that of Taylor & Perry.
The small cartouche carries a family crest which we have not researched.
Both compartment lids open and close perfectly, there are two or three small bruises, the kind that you need to move around in the light to pick up on (very minor), some loss of pattern on the base lid from handling/polishing.
Measures 45x29x23mm.
A good clean example.
