Antique Sterling Silver Basket

English antique sterling silver basket with chased and flowering foliage with rope twist rim and swing handle sitting astride a stepped oval foot.

Hallmarked from London 1781, only the first letter of the makers mark can be made out which is the letter ‘H’ but based on age and shape of the punch we are fairly sure its the mark of Henry Chawner.

Measures 212x152mm and with handle raised it stands approx 6 1/2 inches tall..

Condition is excellent with just a couple of very minor pinhead sized dinks to the plain base interior(very minor indeed).
