English antique sterling silver folding fruit knife with a decorative mother of pearl handle, comes with original small pouch.
Hallmarked from Sheffield in 1836 with the makers mark being that of Aaron Hadfield.
The pouch has lost its small button for closing and the opposite end from opening is also open as stitches have came away.
The knife is an exceptional example, of very high quality, there is the very merest of small dinks on the cutting edge, so tiny I am unsure if you can spot it from the images (very very minor).
The rectangular cartouche is engraved with a previous owners name.
Measures 160mm when opened and 89mm when closed.
