English antique sterling silver fruit knife with decorative mother of pearl handle.
Hallmarked from Sheffield in 1840 with the makers mark being that of George Unite & Sons.
A good looking knife but it does have its issues, loss of tension as it gets close to closing, some spring-back of blade when closed, hairline crack on handle on opposite side to the cartouche, little bit of wear on the silver between handle and blade.
So by no means perfect, measures 108mm when opened and 63mm when closed.
