Antique Cased Smokers Pipes
An exceptional condition pair of antique cased smokers pipes marked A.A.Anderson Glasgow, Arthur Angus Anderson was a tobacco and cigar merchant in Glasgow, We have found reference to him in Glasgow between 1896 and 1898 but are uncertain how long he remained in business thus making it a little difficult to age these perfectly. We are assuming these are late Victorian or Edwardian.
No charring at all to bowls and no evidence to bowl of them having been used at all… a few light scuffs to mouth pieces(these are minor) maybe suggesting someone tried them out but never filled and smoked them preffering to keep them in there case. One is marked 83 and the other 94, as well as A.A.Anderson Glasgow on both they also have London Made on opposite side of bowl.
The one numbered 83 measures 148mm in length approx 52mm from top to bottom of bowl, bowl top measures 32mm across.
The one marked 94 measures 130mm in length with bowl measuring approx 52mm from top to bottom and top rim measures 31mm across.
A fantastic condition pair which we are open to offers on.
Case is also in wonderful order but fails to close everytime, needs a small adjustment..
