Two English cased antique sterling silver folding fruit knives with decorative mother of pearl handles (not a pair).
Marked each with the Georgian duty mark and lion passant, impossible to date to a specific date but they are c.1800.
Both in wonderful order with just one small flea bite on one on the mother of pearl which we needed to use an eyeglass to pick up as so minor.
The one with the engraved cartouche measures 144mm when opened and 78mm when closed. The other measures 137mm when opened and 77mm when closed.
Whilst these come in the same box I would say it is very doubtful they started off together, most probably one came with a folding fruit fork which may have been lost and the similar style second knife was added to the box to make it look like a pair.
Top quality knives in overall excellent order.
